I have a hard time giving details on what separates me from the crowd. It is especially difficult in a job interview because you get hung up on every word you say wanting the person interviewing you to be blown away by your answer. Then when you think of the right response you end up sounding like everyone else the interviewer has talked to. I think that is because that all the unique features that truly separate you from the crowd don’t fall into a category of skills you put on a resume, even though those features are the most important. They are the most important because they show the real you. That is why I am making this post to explain all the things that make me different that don’t get mentioned the first time I meet someone.
I am very analytical. I like planning things out and making sure that what I am doing makes sense. I’m always planning for the worst case scenario even if I am currently experiencing best case scenario. I am always looking at multiple angles of each situation, and because I do I am usually able to look at them objectively. I tend to overthink a lot because of this and can appreciate any activity where I can shut off my brain for a few hours and just go.
I am a huge fan of stand up comedy, in fact I wanted to be a comedian for the longest time in my life and part of me still does. One of my goals is to take improv classes and make a stand up routine to try out at a comedy club. When I do that I’ll be sure to let you know how it goes. If I can get you to laugh I feel accomplished. My greatest fear is missing out on great experiences, which is why I try to throw some spontaneity in my life and take the road less traveled (I’m also scared of heights). My family is the most important thing to me, and if you are my friend you are also my family.
I hope this gives a little more insight on me. There is more I want to tell, but I think I will save that for another post.
